What is Self-Transcendence?
Self-Transcendence is a top of the pyramid of human need hierarchy by Abraham Maslow, a psychologist that researched about the transformation of human need. At first, Maslow divided the pyramid into 5 stages :
The 5 stages of human need are:
– Psychological (survival) need: food, water, sex, excretion, homeostasis.– Security (safety) need: security in morality, financial, carrier.
– Love (belonging) need: relationship, connection, belong to someone.
– Esteem (respect) need: give and get respect as an individual, achievement.
– Self-actualization (fullest potential) need: realize personal power, problem solving, lack of prejudice, growth mindset.
The more you evolve, the more you increase the quality of your reality.
Reality is malleable, you become what you understand.
That’s the important of self-growth and self-love.
Each stage of evolution has a different need.
That’s why as you grow, your priority transformed, so does your fulfillment.
But then, Maslow noticed that everything are about ego fulfilment, and there is something beyond mental aspect.
So he added revision to his pyramid above self-actualization, which is Self-Transcendence.
Self-Transcendence is a realization beyond oneself as an integral part of the universe.
Self-transcendence only happened after passed spiritual awakening.
Spiritual awakening makes you see deeper, beyond illusion and attachment, realize what you are, why you are here, the meaning of life, and lots of deep inquiries as the side effect of the self-realization after detached from ego consciousness. You focus on unbecoming what you are not, including a desire to achieve the illusion of “success” from the matrix and focus on what serve your soul/divine purpose. You live consciously and consider the influence of everything you do in life and more focus on purposeful living.
